‘...one
of the most beautiful, poignant performances of Elgar's concerto

A
week after her sell out performance of the Elgar Cello Concerto
with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Cadogan Hall in London,
Alfia Nakipbekova, former student of Rostropovich, has revisited
Papa Westray to record the Bach Cello Suites in the St Boniface
Kirk - recently restored 12th century parish church. Earlier this
year she performed all six suites there and was impressed by its
simple beauty and intimate acoustic. The recording will be completed
shortly after Christmas and released next year. Alfia would like
to thank all the people on Papay for their kind support. |

The
project was organized by Land Art - Papa Westray |
